The Benefits of Oil Flushing With an Over-the-Side Immersion Heater

Industrial & Manufacturing Blog

If you need to use oil flushing to clean up a tank or container, then you have to find a way to heat the flush before it goes through the system. While pressure does some cleaning, heating the liquid helps dislodge and remove stubborn deposits.

Oil flushing systems often use immersion heating devices to heat their liquids. However, immersion heaters work in different ways.

For example, you can use an over-the-side heater for some applications. These heaters drop down into the tanks or containers that you need to flush out. Once in place, they heat the liquid to the right temperature for the flushing process.

What are the benefits of using over-the-side oil flushing heaters?

Get Heat Into Difficult Locations

Some oil flushing heaters directly attach to the tanks or containers they clean. For example, they might bolt to the side of the tank and sit there permanently.

However, you can't always attach an immersion to some tanks, containers or devices. Also, you might not have enough space in the right area to leave the device in permanently.

In these cases, an over-the-top device can work well. You simply hang the heater over the top of the tank or container. When you're done flushing, you take it out again.

Get a Heater That Lasts Longer

If an immersion heater sits in a tank or container permanently, then it might become damaged. It might be affected by long-term exposure to sediments, oils, chemicals and acids.

So, you might have to repair the heater if it develops problems. You'll need to replace it if the damage is too bad to repair.

If you use an over-the-top immersion heater, then the heater doesn't stay in place permanently. You only put it in liquid during the oil flushing process. The rest of the time, you take it out and store it somewhere safe.

So, this kind of heater is less likely to get damaged. It lasts longer.

Get a Heater That Does Multiple Jobs

If you fix immersion heaters to multiple tanks or containers that need oil flushing, then you have to buy multiple units and fix them all in place. This increases your costs.

If you use an over-the-top immersion heater, then you can move the heater around from tank to tank. You could use this one heater in all your oil flushing jobs. You save time and money.

Creating a Safe Environment: Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities

If you work in or run an industrial or manufacturing facility, safety is key. In this blog, we are going to talk a lot about safety. However, we are also going to veer into other aspects of these industries as well. There will be posts directed toward consumers, business owners, workers and many others. Before you start reading, let me introduce myself. My name is Steve. I used to volunteer at an animal refuge where I put together a lot of buildings and frequently visited sheet metal processing facilities, fence manufacturing companies and similar businesses. I was incredibly interested in what they did so I decided to create this blog. Thank you for reading.
